Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction in Birmingham, AL from kickoff to completion. You will lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, and ensure safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years supervising electrical projects, in healthcare/manufacturing/data center settings. Proficiency with Procore/Bluebeam/Viewpoint, reading blueprints, OSHA/NEC knowledge, and strong leadership are

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supervising electrical construction projects.
  • Experience leading commercial/industrial electrical projects including healthcare/manufacturing/data centers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings.
  • Proven experience managing field labor, subcontractors, scheduling, and productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NEC, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CM software (Procore/Bluebeam/Viewpoint).
  • Journeyman/Master Electrician license preferred; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily field operations for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Lead and coordinate Foremen, Journeyman Electricians, Apprentices, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and documents to ensure plan conformity.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and manpower to maintain timelines.
  • Conduct daily jobsite planning meetings and communicate expectations with field personnel.
  • Ensure OSHA safety regulations, NEC requirements, and company policies are followed.
  • Monitor workmanship to maintain high-quality standards across phases.
  • Identify and resolve field issues and scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinate inspections with local authorities and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on progress, labor forecasts, scheduling, and budgets.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, general contractors, inspectors, and project teams.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects in the field from project kickoff through completion. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in Electrical Construction who can effectively manage field personnel, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily field operations for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Lead and coordinate Foremen, Journeyman Electricians, Apprentices, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with Project Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure work is completed according to plan.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and manpower to maintain productivity and project timelines.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent or Foreman managing commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Experience leading commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, data center, or institutional electrical projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings.
  • Proven experience managing field labor, subcontractors, scheduling, and productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NEC, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred but not required depending on state requirements.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
