Job summary

Black Label Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to oversee field electrical operations on commercial and industrial projects.

You will lead electricians, foremen, and subcontractors, ensure safety, schedule work, manage costs, and coordinate with project management to meet scope, schedule, and budget. This hands-on role requires NEC/NFPA/OSHA knowledge, blueprint reading, and strong leadership.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all field-based electrical operations on commercial and industrial projects. This leadership role ensures safety compliance, quality workmanship, efficient scheduling, and cost control while coordinating between field crews, subcontractors, and project management. The Electrical Superintendent serves as a hands‑on supervisor ensuring daily operations are executed to meet the project scope, schedule, and budget.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians, foremen, and subcontractors on job sites.
  • Ensure all work complies with company standards, project specifications, and applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce workplace safety procedures and protocols in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to guide installations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Schedule manpower and coordinate daily work assignments to meet project timelines.
  • Oversee material ordering, delivery, and inventory management at job sites.
  • Participate in job walks, pre‑construction meetings, and daily planning meetings.
  • Interface with the Project Manager to track progress, report issues, and update project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain documentation related to daily work logs, inspections, incidents, and change orders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field‑level electrical and instrumentation issues in real‑time.
  • Provide training and mentorship to foremen and field crews to promote professional development and quality workmanship.
Requirements

Education, Experience, Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical school or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Journeyman Electrician License required in the state of operation (or reciprocity eligible).
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical field supervision, including commercial or industrial project oversight.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other electrical safety codes and regulations.
  • Proficient with reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Competent with temporary power setup, conduit installation, cable tray systems, grounding, and equipment terminations.
  • Excellent leadership, time management, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and managing crews in varying field conditions.
Salary Description

$120,000 - $160,000
