Job summary

Fortna partners with leading brands to transform distribution operations, delivering electrical installation of parcel conveying systems across projects. This role leads the electrical installation efforts, interfacing with the electrical PE, project manager, and customer to complete installations on schedule.

Responsibilities include planning tasks, tracking materials, coordinating with vendors and field staff, reviewing drawings, and ensuring adherence to customer specifications and standards.

Qualifications

  • Five years of material handling electrical installation experience.
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage power systems.
  • Troubleshooting power systems.
  • Read, understand and apply customer specifications.

  • Understand and execute the electrical installation specific to the project managers plan.
  • Be familiar with the installation drawings.
  • Track and stage materials.
  • Plan tasks by crew.
  • Understand and execute to the schedule.
  • Provide field interface with customer's project representative(s).
  • Project installation plan.
  • Contract change orders.
  • Customer specifications / standards.
  • Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors as related to inquiries.
  • Communicate project specific information with other departments.
  • Create material purchase requests.
  • Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur.
  • Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems.
  • Be cognoscente of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements and enhanced customer service.
  • Check drawings provided by electrical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.

Responsible for leading the electrical installation of parcel conveying systems. This requires interfacing with the electrical PE, project manager, and customer to successfully complete these projects. Must layout, plan, and execute the specific tasks associated with installation.

  • Communicate project specific information with other MHS departments including project management, purchasing, electrical engineering, field installation and fabrication departments
  • Create material purchase requests
  • Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur.
  • Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment and customer general specifications and standards
  • Be cognoscente of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements and enhanced customer service
  • Check drawings provided by electrical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.
QUALIFCATIONS
  • Five years of material handling electrical installation experience
  • A state electrical license
  • Knowledge of:Low and medium voltage power systems
  • Troubleshooting said power systems
  • Microsoft Office
  • Ability to:Read, understand and apply customer specifications
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and co-workers
  • Complete detail oriented work producing above average results
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize own work, participate in setting priorities and meet critical time deadlines
  • Must be able to travel to jobsites and customer meetings as required.

Key Results: Meet engineering deadlines as set by customer and MHS project management. Understand project material requirements and submit for purchase as to meet installation schedule.
