Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for leading the electrical installation of parcel conveying systems. This role requires interfacing with the electrical PE, project manager, and customer to successfully complete projects. Tasks include layout, planning, and execution of specific installation activities.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and execute the electrical installation specific to the project manager’s plan.
  • Be familiar with the installation drawings.
  • Track and stage materials.
  • Plan tasks by crew.
  • Follow the schedule.
  • Provide field interface with the customer’s project representative(s).
  • Prepare and manage the project installation plan.
  • Handle contract change orders.
  • Adhere to customer specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors related to inquiries.
  • Communicate project-specific information with other MHS departments including project management, purchasing, electrical engineering, field installation, and fabrication departments.
  • Create material purchase requests.
  • Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur.
  • Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment, and customer general specifications and standards.
  • Identify areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements, and enhanced customer service.
  • Check drawings provided by electrical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.

  • Meet engineering deadlines set by the customer and MHS project management.
  • Understand project material requirements and submit purchase orders to meet installation schedule.
Qualifications
  • Five years of material handling electrical installation experience.
  • A state electrical license.
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage power systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot power systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Read, understand, and apply customer specifications.
  • Effective communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Detail-oriented work producing above-average results.
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize own work, participate in setting priorities and meet critical time deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and customer meetings as required.
