Job summary

Stanley Consultants in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Electrical Substation Student Intern to join our Des Moines office onsite. You will assist in developing an understanding of substation design, including layouts, protection, grounding, and schematics as part of a multidisciplinary design team.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a ABET-accredited BSEE program, with coursework in power systems, a 3.0+ GPA, and strong written and verbal communication skills; eligible to work in the United States

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited BSEE program.
• Coursework or equivalent experience in power system analysis.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior working toward a BS in Electrical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of various aspects of Substation Design.
• Assist with design of substation layouts, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans, grounding analysis and design, and schematics.
• Work as part of a design team and potentially on multiple projects.

Education

BSEE program at ABET-accredited university

Sophomore/Junior/Senior pursuing BS in Electrical Engineering

GPA 3.0 or higher

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to work legally in the United States without sponsorship
