Job summary

Civiltec Engineering is seeking an Electrical Staff Engineer to contribute to electrical, instrumentation and controls design for water and wastewater facilities. This position can be based out of Phoenix or Peoria, AZ and involves collaboration with multi-discipline project teams.

You will prepare deliverables such as single line diagrams, control schematics, power and grounding plans, lighting plans, and P&IDs, plus perform short circuit calculations and arc flash studies.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree required or anticipated.
• FE/EIT certification or passing FE exam preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD is necessary.
• Proficiency with Word & Excel is expected.
• Familiarity with NEC and water/wastewater design concepts is valued.
• Experience with electrical software (AGI32, Pathloss, SKM, E-Tap) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical deliverables (SLDs, control schematics, power/grounding/lighting plans, P&IDs).
• Develop Lighting Panel Schedules, Circuit Schedules, and Load Calculation Schedules.
• Perform Short Circuit Calculations, Protective Device Coordination, and Arc Flash analysis.
• Perform Radio Path Signal and Photometric calculations.

As anElectrical Staff Engineer, youwill be involved in assignments including electrical, instrumentation and controls design associated with water and wastewater facilities. This position can work out of our Phoenix or Peoria, AZ office.

Your responsibilities:

• Work under moderate supervision to produce deliverables as required for project needs

• Electrical deliverables that include:

  • Single Line Diagrams

  • Control Schematics

  • Power Plans

  • Grounding Plans

  • Lighting Plans

  • P&IDs

  • Control Panel Layout

  • IO Card wiring diagrams

  • Network Diagrams

• Develop Lighting Panel Schedules, Circuit Schedules, and Load Calculation Schedules.

• Perform Short Circuit Calculations, Protective Device Coordination Studies, and Arc Flash analysis

• Perform Radio Path Signal Analysis

• Perform Photometric Calculations

• Interface and coordinate with Civil/Mechanical project design team members.

• Prepare technical memorandums and reports

• Some travel required

• EIT Certification or passed FE exam

• BSEE degree

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Working knowledge with AutoCAD is necessary

• High competency with Word & Excel spreadsheets

• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code is desired

• Working knowledge of water/wastewater system design concepts is desired

• Experience with electrical software such as AGI32, Pathloss, SKM, or E-Tap is desired
