Responsibilities

• Maintain plant DC emergency battery backup systems.
• Perform maintenance on 480V to 13.8KV electrical systems and high voltage switchyards, following safety practices.
• Conduct electrical system isolations and provide training on Electrical Safety programs.
• Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems to identify and address potential issues.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with technicians, operators, and maintenance personnel to integrate electrical systems.
• Participate in planned outages by providing technical support for maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Respond to emergencies as directed at any time of day or night.
• Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, warnings, and posted signs.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Specialist for a position in a heavy industrial setting. This role involves the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of a variety of electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and communication systems.


• Perform electrician work at the journey level, including the installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and controls.


• Maintain plant DC emergency battery backup systems.


• Perform maintenance on 480V to 13.8KV electrical systems and high voltage switchyards, consistent with safety practices.


• Conduct electrical system isolations following industry standards and provide training to others on Electrical Safety programs.


• Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems to identify and proactively address potential issues.


• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.


• Collaborate with technicians, operators, and maintenance personnel to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Required Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or equivalent is required. A technical degree from an accredited institution is also specified.

Experience

5-10 years of related experience is required. Previous experience as a Journeyman Electrician or a relevant military background, preferably within a power plant or heavy industrial setting, is necessary.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a wide array of electrical equipment. Hands‑on experience with voltages ranging from 480V to 13.8KV. Knowledge of Electrical Hazard Awareness and troubleshooting electrical systems is required. Strong personal computer skills are also necessary.
