Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Service Manager for its Electrical Solutions division in Houston, TX. You will lead a major maintenance operation, supervise technicians and equipment associates, and drive safety, quality, and customer satisfaction across our electrical fleet.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution gear, load banks, transformers, and MV equipment; coaching staff; managing expenses; and collaborating with branch leadership to grow

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of operations and shop management experience
• Background in repairing and maintaining equipment
• Advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical and electrical systems
• Inventory management and vendor management experience
• Ability to read and interpret one-line drawings
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Strong leadership and customer service skills
• Knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L
• Basic computer skills (Excel)

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment including Electrical Distribution, Load Banks, Transformers, and Medium Voltage Equipment
• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time and quality standards and comply with repair processes
• Supervise Service Technicians ensuring safety policies are followed at all times
• Build strong customer relationships through high quality and timely service
• Apply company policies to maximize productivity while maintaining a safe, organized facility
• Manage shop operating expenses
• Lead improvements of service and maintenance performance metrics
• Meet regularly with Branch Managers to report problems and discuss solutions
• Perform other duties as needed
