Job summary

John Deere is seeking an entry-level Electrical & Software Test Engineer for the Morrisville Engineering Lab in Morrisville, NC. You will join the Turf & Compact Utility Engineering team to deliver world-class test solutions for vehicle electrical systems.

The role emphasizes combined electronics, controls, and embedded software testing, collaboration across teams, and advancing test automation within a defined development process.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical and/or Software Engineering performing analysis, design & testing of embedded software.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills with those inside and outside your department.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting vehicle-level & component-level electrical/electronic schematics and software requirements.
• Experience with SAE J1939 CAN analysis tools for debugging CAN on a complex vehicle network.

Responsibilities

• Utilize combined electronics, controls, and embedded software testing skills as a core team member.
• Develop and execute software test plans and procedures for vehicle electrical systems.
• Collaborate with testers, developers, and stakeholders to validate key system features.
• Embrace and innovate tools for requirements, test plans, procedures, execution, and reporting.
• Support modeling/simulation/virtualization ecosystem development to enhance test coverage and automation.
