Job description

  • The Electrical Shop Supervisor is responsible for the estimating, scheduling and overall build for electrical control panels and equipment wiring. This person is also responsible for scheduled and preventative maintenance procedures and work related to shop machinery and equipment.
  • Estimate control panel and product wiring costs
  • Manage the control panel assembly process and assign the necessary resources to meet project schedules
  • Maintain and update the database of electrical product costs / history
  • Update and maintain equipment preventative maintenance procedures and records
  • Attend and input manufacturing strategy meetings
  • Purchase electrical components
  • Management and control of union personnel including hiring and layoffs
  • Establish and maintain electrical panel shop continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
Your Tasks

  • Attend and input manufacturing strategy meetings
  • Purchase electrical components
  • Management and control of union personnel including hiring and layoffs
  • Establish and maintain electrical panel shop continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
Your Skills
  • High School Diploma required
  • Eight or more years of position related experience
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Good understanding of the control panel assembly process as it relates to time impacts on product and fabrication costs
  • Good understanding of union collective bargaining agreements
  • Good understanding of assembly and construction processes as they relate to time impacts on product and fabrication costs
  • Good understanding of and experience with paint finishing related products and systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
