Qualifications

• Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License required.
• Minimum of 4 years documented field work in industrial/commercial settings.
• Current driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Knowledge of safety and traffic laws in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan and coordinate work ahead of time.
• Ensure materials, tools, and job info are ready on site or in service van.
• Operate company vehicle responsibly.
• Communicate with vendors, engineers, owners, managers and contractors to keep jobs on scope and budget.
• Maintain professional client relations and develop partnerships.
• Troubleshoot and install changes to existing service.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely, high‑quality installations.
• Manage and maintain all tools with care.
• Provide time and materials estimates for service tasks.
• Reconcile tasks with other contractors to meet deadlines.

Electrical Service Technician Needed - Houston, TX

We are looking for experienced Journeyman Service Technicians to join our growing Houston team. This role involves performing commercial and industrial electrical service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installations.

We are seeking local Houston-area electricians who take pride in their work, enjoy solving electrical challenges, and are committed to delivering safe, dependable solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Must be organized, plan and coordinate work ahead of time
• Effectively manage each project by ensuring that all materials, tools, equipment and job information are on the jobsite or in the service van ahead of time
• Responsible for operating a company vehicle, and will be responsible for operating it in an appropriate manner. Misuse or abuse of company vehicle will not be tolerated
• Communicate with vendors, engineers, owners, service managers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed within scope and budget
• Treat client with highest degree of respect and work to develop a partnership environment
• Investigate and problem solve to determine the most efficient way to install changes to existing service
• Work as team member by assisting other where needed and follow a neat and process-oriented work style
• Be efficient with your time and materials while ensuring top quality electrical installations
• Ability to communicate effectively on any issues or room for improvement
• Responsible for managing and maintaining all tools. Misuse or abuse of equipment will not be tolerated
• Attention to detail and handle every client request with professionalism
• Estimate the general amount of time and material to complete service tasks, taking into account the needs and manpower requirements.
• Communicate with vendors, engineers, owners, service managers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed within scope and budget

Qualifications

• Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License required
• Minimum of 4 years documented field work in the industrial and/or commercial industry, or completion of 4 year electrical apprenticeship program
• Current driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record is a requirement of this position
• Knowledge of and abide by all safety and traffic laws in the state of Texas
• Excellent understanding of the electrical industry
• Punctual, motivated and detail oriented
• Possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in Cummings’ business strategies
• Must be able to work well and with others
• Willing to travel as needed
