Job summary

Miller Electric Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead electrical contracting projects from initiation to closeout. You will guide planning, cost control, scheduling, and vendor coordination, ensuring safety and compliance with company standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring junior staff, and delivering projects on time and within budget. A strong background in electrical installations and client-facing communications is essential.

Qualifications

  • A College degree and journeyman’s license are required.
  • 10+ years of electrical contracting project management experience.
  • Proficient in architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills; experience with itemized estimating.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; billing and collections knowledge.
  • Ability to mentor and manage project managers and senior professionals.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification within first year.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials with vendors.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and staff.
  • Provide feedback and reports to executives; manage financial forecasting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies/procedures are adhered to as specified.
  • Generate estimates, prepare and review project proposal or plan to determine and establish a timeframe, work plan, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
  • Oversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the projectis built following design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion
  • Plan, coordinate, and/or manage activities of all company personnel and subcontractors on assigned project(s)
  • Generate billings and lead the collections process for projects
  • Frequent project visits with field supervision and other personnel to understand any progress, needs, or issues. Assist in the planning of future labor/material needs of the project
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to the jobsite by working directly with vendors
  • Build long term relationships with both the clients and fellow employees by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions
  • Provide consistent feedback and reports to the business unit vice president
  • Manage project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting
  • Provide advice, guidance, mentoring, and direction to subordinates and other junior personnel toward the achievement of their personal development goals
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills and competencies to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity
  • Responsible for job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards for personnel under their supervision.
  • Support and participate in company-sponsored initiatives and activities
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • A College degree, journeyman’s license
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical contracting project management with a good understanding of electrical installations
  • Proficient in architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Strong computer & Microsoft 365 skills
  • Familiar withcomputer-basedestimating for an itemby item estimating
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must understand billing and collections
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experienced in mentoring and managing project managers, assistant project managers and senior level trade professionals
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • 30 Hour OSHA Certification is required within the first year
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.

  • Master Electrician’s License
