Job summary

Miller Electric Company in Deerfield Beach, FL seeks a Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects in a client-facing capacity. You will report to the Director and VP, coordinating internal teams and subcontractors, developing plans, and ensuring scope, budget, and schedule alignment with client expectations.

Responsibilities include estimating, procurement, billing, and ongoing liaison with customers.

Qualifications

  • A college degree or electrician licenses (journeyman or master) are required.
  • Understanding of electrical installations.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies/procedures are adhered to as specified.
  • Generate estimates, prepare and review project plans, determine timeframes, staffing needs, and resources.
  • Oversee project with on-site supervision, ensuring design, budget, and schedule alignment and client expectations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage activities of all personnel and subcontractors on assigned project(s).
  • Generate billings and lead collections for projects.
  • Frequent project visits with field supervision to assess progress and needs.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials by working with vendors.
  • Build long-term client and team relationships by meeting expectations and providing solutions.
  • Provide feedback and reports to the business unit VP.
  • Manage project review process focusing on financial forecasting.
  • Mentor subordinates and guide personal development goals.
  • Pursue continuous learning to enhance team productivity.

As a Project Manager, you'll report directly to the Director and VP in a client-facing role that requires building strong relationships both in and outside the office. You'll develop through hands-on experience, peer collaboration, and ongoing technical training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies/procedures are adhered to as specified

  • Generate estimates, prepare and review project proposal or plan to determine and establish at time frame, work plan, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project

  • Oversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is builtin accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion

  • Plan, coordinate, and/or manage activities of all company personnel and subcontractors on assigned project(s)

  • Generate billings and lead the collections process for projects

  • Frequent project visits with field supervision and other personnel to gain an understanding of any progress, needs, or issues. Assist in the planning of future labor/material needs of the project

  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to the job site by working directly with vendors

  • Build long-term relationships with both the clients and fellow employees by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions

  • Provide consistent feedback and reports to the business unit vice president

  • Manage project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting

  • Provide advice, guidance, mentoring, and direction to subordinates and other junior personnel toward the achievement of their personal development goals

  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills and competencies to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity

  • Responsible for job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards for personnel under his or her supervision.

  • Support and participate in company-sponsored initiatives and activities

Qualifications
REQUIRED
  • A College degree, journeyman's license, or master electrician's license
  • Understanding of electrical installations
  • Strong computer skills - Specifically in Microsoft 365
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
PREFERRED
  • Experience in dealing with industrial construction/contracting
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience
  • Familiar with computer-based estimating
  • Familiar with COINS (ERP Software)
  • Knowledge of billing and collections
