Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Health and Safety (Electrical) to lead complex safety and risk projects across high-hazard environments in the US. You will mentor technical professionals, manage client relationships, and collaborate with ERM’s Safety and Risk practice to drive safety performance improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of consulting experience in safety management, risk management, or safety culture initiatives.
• Experience managing client relationships, proposals, and contracts.
• Strong background in high-hazard industrial or construction environments.
• Experience supporting construction safety programs on active project sites and site oversight.
• Knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards in field settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical safety program assessments against OSHA and NFPA 70E requirements.
• Perform electrical shock and arc flash risk assessments.
• Review arc flash studies, short-circuit studies, and protective device coordination studies.
• Evaluate ESWP, energized work procedures, and lockout/tagout programs.
• Conduct fire and life safety assessments for existing and new facilities.
• Evaluate compliance with fire codes, building codes, and fire protection standards.
• Support permit applications, equivalency requests, and variance submissions.
• Develop and implement safety programs to proactively manage risks.
• Lead complex safety and process safety projects, audits, and safety studies.
• Coach leaders and frontline personnel to strengthen safety leadership.
