Job summary

Service Electric Company is seeking a Safety Coordinator to coordinate safety on project sites, enforce safety manuals and plans, and help create a safe work environment. The role involves extensive travel across Virginia and North Carolina, with supervision and reporting duties to the Safety Manager.

The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of electrical construction/maintenance experience, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-5 years of electrical construction/maintenance experience.
• Experience with OSHA rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of health and safety plans.
• Good judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in routine job site visits.
• Conducts safety assessments on crews during routine job site visits.
• Monitors safety regulations for recommendations in changes and revisions of Construction Safety Manual and contract specifications.
• Develops and conducts safety training programs for personnel, including OSHA-related requirements.
• Facilitates new employee orientation training.
• Assists accident/incident investigations and prepares written reports.
• Supports field personnel in their job functions.
