Job summary

Orange & Rockland Utilities is seeking an Electrical Engineer in the reliability support discipline. Under supervision of a Senior Engineer, you will assist in evaluating electric delivery system performance to improve safety, reliability, and maintainability.

You will participate in reliability analyses, data management, regulatory reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Electric Operations and the Control Center.

Qualifications

• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with customers and management.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements at state and federal levels is a plus.
• Proficiency in Windows environments and MS Office tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety, reliability, and environmental excellence in the workplace.
• Supports engineers in analyses and studies for electric reliability.
• Reviews outage data daily for accuracy and completeness.
• Updates outage historical database and ensures data integrity.
• Assists in identifying solutions for customers with frequent outages.
• Participates in circuit patrols to identify reliability issues.
• Represents the department at internal reliability meetings and at industry/regulatory meetings.
• Contributes to procedures development and documentation.
• Monitors and reports on electric service reliability metrics.
• Supports emergency management and storm plans as needed.
• Performs system delivery analyses for Distribution Engineering, Electric Operations, and Control Center.
