Job summary

IES is seeking an Electrical Quality Control Inspector to verify quality and regulatory compliance of electrical installations on construction sites in Indianapolis. The role requires knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and testing procedures, along with accurate documentation and strong communication skills.

You will inspect panels, wiring, and components, maintain reports, and collaborate with electricians and engineers to resolve issues while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology preferred.
• Proven experience in electrical inspection, quality control, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and industry standards.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience with electrical testing equipment and inspection tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English communication, both written and verbal.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical wiring, panels, and components for code compliance.
• Perform voltage, grounding, and continuity testing to verify quality.
• Identify defects and report deviations, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Maintain detailed inspection reports and test records.
• Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues.
• Ensure all work meets OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards.
• Conduct audits and propose process improvements.
• Train technicians on QA procedures when needed.
