Job summary

Helix Electric is seeking an Electrical Quality Control Lead to work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to support QAQC and final commissioning implementation on our projects in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

You will coordinate testing and inspection reports with the project team, lead QC documentation, ensure compliance with NFPA 70/70E and safety guidelines, and collaborate with the commissioning team to deliver top-quality results for our clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in the electrical construction field
• Minimum of 2 years of lead experience in construction environment performing QA/QC auditing
• Experience with electrical equipment and conductors to ensure safe testing, QC, and commissioning
• Experience with safe start-up of electrical systems
• Experience with de-energizing, Lockout tag of electrical systems
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
• Excellent knowledge of data acquisition systems (monitoring, communications, networking)
• Up to date and current computer knowledge, including Excel, MS Office, email, internet, DAS software, interface systems, Bluebeam
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork attitude
• Clean DMV, drug test results, and background check

Responsibilities

• Coordinate required testing and inspection reports with the project management team
• Facilitate submissions of testing and inspection reports with the project engineering team
• Assist with coordination efforts related to formal notifications
• Lead QC documentation – reports, test data, logs, QC daily reports
• Cross-reference and back-check testing standards for compliance
• Perform regular site walks to support and verify QC activities
• Promote adherence to QC standards with field personnel
• Ensure QC procedures and safety guidelines are adhered to
• Collaborate with commissioning team
• Provide top service to clients with clear communication
