Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, a subsidiary of IES Holdings, seeks a full-time QA/QC Inspector Level 2 for onsite roles in the United States.

The candidate will inspect electrical terminations, lead torque procedures, verify cable IDs, and review diagrams and panel schedules to ensure workmanship and safety for various projects. Experience as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent, plus knowledge of codes, diagrams, and safety practices, is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Journeyman Electrician or equivalent electrical construction experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and electrical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments.
• 2-5 years’ industrial or commercial electrical construction experience.
• Data Center Experience is preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Successfully pass pre-employment background and MVR checks when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform spot-check inspections of electrical terminations to verify workmanship and standards.
• Serve as Torque Lead, ensuring proper torque procedures are followed and documented.
• Verify cable identification and verification processes are completed accurately.
• Conduct visual inspections for vendor installation deficiencies and workmanship concerns.
• Verify phasing, CT orientation, and perform cable tug tests in preparation for inspections.
• Review overcurrent protection device sizing and cross-check against single-line diagrams.
• Assist with project redlines and as-built documentation, including panel schedules and raceways.
• Support receiving, inspection, and verification of project assets and equipment.
• Assist panel access, panel cover removal, and restoration for client/third-party inspections.
• Assist in collecting and transferring equipment keys to GC or project representatives.
• Inspect installations for compliance with color coding, lug selection, cable dressing, hardware, bushing, labeling.
