Job summary

Ascend Automation & Controls seeks an organized Buyer to manage day‑to‑day procurement for electrical control panels, switchracks, and automation solutions. You will issue POs, maintain supplier communications, and expedite materials to align with project schedules in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3+ years in purchasing, strong Excel and ERP/MRP skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and delivery tracking.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

Create and issue purchase orders based on approved material requisitions, BOMs, and project requirements.
Procure electrical, automation, instrumentation, mechanical, and structural components from approved suppliers.
Obtain quotations, evaluate pricing, and support supplier selection decisions.
Maintain purchasing records, supplier documentation, and procurement files.
Expedite critical materials to support project schedules and manufacturing priorities.
Track open purchase orders and follow up on overdue deliveries.
Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Warehouse personnel to communicate material status.
