Job summary

Cache Valley Electric Company is seeking a full-time project manager to oversee commercial electrical construction projects from pre-construction through completion. You will lead client communications, prepare detailed estimates, track progress, manage submittals and change orders, and oversee cost control, safety, and quality across multiple concurrent projects.

Strong collaboration with owners, architectural/engineering teams, and subcontractors is essential, as is providing accurate

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for interaction with field personnel, office staff, customers, vendors and owners.
• Experience with estimating and project management software for bid and project tracking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial customer contact to assess scope, schedule and resources.
• Prepare a complete estimate for the project with plan and bid form review.
• Establish project objectives, policies and procedures aligned with company policy.
• Maintain documentation to track progress and performance metrics.
• Monitor construction activities with on-site supervision to keep the project on schedule.
• Represent the company with owners, design teams, general contractors and suppliers.
• Submit and track submittals, RFIs, close-out documentation, and change orders.
• Manage financials: progress billing, equipment rental, income/expenses, and cost controls.
• Provide accurate forecasting and project control reporting.

Cache Valley Electric’s Signal and Utility Division is seeking a full-time (40+ hrs/wk) project manager to oversee commercial electrical construction projects. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide initial customer contact to assess the scope of work, schedule, and resources necessary to complete the project
• Prepare a complete estimate for the project with a detailed review of plans, specifications, and bid forms
• Establish project objectives, policies, and procedures consistent with company policies
• Maintain all documentation required to track the project’s progress
• Monitor construction activities, progress, and resources in conjunction with on-site supervision and division management to keep project on schedule
• Ensure appropriate quality standards
• Represent the company with owners, architectural and engineering design teams, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Prepare, submit, and track project documentation such as submittals, RFIs, close out documentation, etc.
• Estimate and submit change orders
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the client
• Implement and manage project cost control strategies
• Provide accurate forecasting and project control reporting
• Perform purchasing activities using both structured purchasing programs and company general purchasing department support
• Practice and promote safe work practices

• Ability to manage several projects concurrently from pre-construction through completion
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with field personnel, office staff, customers, vendors, and owners
• Knowledge of estimating and project management software
• Ability to independently make informed decisions and commitments within company parameters
• Microsoft office suite experience is required
