Job summary

gpac represents a confidential client seeking an Electrical Project Manager / Estimator for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects in Ohio. You will manage projects from kickoff through completion, perform detailed takeoffs, develop accurate pricing, and coordinate with customers, field teams, and vendors.

The role blends project management and preconstruction responsibilities, offering influence on budgets, schedules, and profitability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical construction.
• Experience in both electrical project management and estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
• Experience with electrical takeoffs, estimating, bidding, change orders, and project financials.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Journeyman/Master Electrician license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimate commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from plans and specifications through final proposal.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs and develop accurate project pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work to identify requirements, exclusions, and potential issues.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage awarded projects from kickoff through successful completion.
• Establish and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls.
• Monitor project performance, profitability, change orders, and overall financial results.
• Coordinate with general contractors, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Provide clear direction regarding project scope, schedules, materials, and expectations.
• Assist with procurement and material coordination.
• Identify potential challenges early and develop practical solutions.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Help identify future project opportunities and contribute to business development efforts.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical construction.
• Previous experience in both electrical project management and estimating.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, labor, and project sequencing.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
• Experience with electrical takeoffs, estimating, bidding, change orders, and project financials.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Experience with Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar estimating software is a plus.
• Electrical field experience or a Journeyman/Master Electrician license is a plus.
