Job summary

Manhattan Construction Company is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead project direction, completion, and financial outcomes for assigned projects. You will mentor on-site staff, exercise strong leadership, and ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and effective cost control.

The role requires an electrical background, a construction management degree (or equivalent experience), and at least eight years in the industry. Travel to metropolitan area sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis.
  • 8 years of industry experience
  • Proven ability to manage projects in excess of $25 million
  • Must have an electrical background
  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification and First Aid & CPR Training

  • Manages Conflict Resolution Process with Owners

  • Organizes and Leads Trade Contractor Meetings
  • Lead Project Execution Planning Process
  • Identify and manage risk proactively to mitigate project risk

POSITIONSUMMARY:

The ElectricalProject Managermanages the overall projectdirection, completion and financial outcome for assigned projects. Responsiblefor directing and mentoring on-site staff. The position requires businessmanagement acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational andtime management skills, as well as strong communication and client serviceskills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Practices implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies
  • All qualities/responsibilities of a Project Manager 1, plus:
  • Manages Conflict Resolution Process with Owners
  • Manages Change Order Negotiations with Subcontractors
  • Prepares and submits Change Order Requests and completes negotiations for changes.
  • Settles disputes and back changes.
  • Serve as Client - Project Management Point of Contact
  • Develops and Leads Pre-Con Meetings
  • Responsible for Project Closeout
  • Reviews and approves subcontractor and vendor pay applications, invoices, and payables for accuracy
  • Prepare Labor Analysis/labor projections and manage job costs.
  • Manages the process of preparation of the Project Execution Plan
  • Manages preparation and issuing of Subcontractor Information/ Welcome Package
    Lead Owner/ Architect Meetings
  • Assign Project Team Responsibilities
  • Organize and Lead Trade Contractor Meetings
  • Lead Owner/ Architect/ Contractor Meetings
  • Manage Process of Master Schedule/Oversee Updates
  • Prepares Final PSR and presents the report in a Project Close-Out meeting.
  • Lead Project Execution Planning Process
  • Identifies and manages risk proactively to mitigate Project Risk
  • Leads Safety Management Teams on Projects
  • Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
  • Other duties as assigned
JOBSKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:
  • Has completed OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification and First Aid & CPR Training and Certification.
  • Effective Communicator
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Proven experience in Manhattan document control and schedule software
  • Thorough understanding of the industry

WORKINGCONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:
  • You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.
