Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Construction to lead field activities on a major data center project. This role focuses on supervising the General Contractor's construction work and providing status reporting to the project owner, with deep field electrical expertise and strong leadership.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical project management within data centers or electrical contracting, and is skilled in MS Office, Procore and scheduling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.
• Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.
• Familiarity with MEP design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1–5).
• Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/Es, equipment submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Effective communication across our internal team to ensure efficiency and a consistent delivery to the client.
• Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
• Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
• Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
• Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.
• Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly.
• Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
• Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Rapid response to RFIs from the field.
• Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
• Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
• Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
• Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.
• Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Construction with Field Experience to support a high-profile data center construction project. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the General Contractor’s construction activities, with a strong focus on reporting on schedule status back to the project owner.
