Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of electrical installation and infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. The role will involve managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, budgets, procurement schedules and method statements; coordinating design development and technical approvals; monitoring progress, costs, risks and changes; and ensuring all works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and project specifications. You will oversee site activities, chair progress meetings, review contractor performance, resolve technical and commercial issues, and maintain accurate project documentation. The role will also require close collaboration with health and safety teams to promote a strong safety culture, alongside responsibility for commissioning, testing, handover documentation and close-out activities.

Applicants should have proven experience managing electrical projects within a construction, engineering, industrial or facilities environment, supported by a relevant electrical or engineering qualification. A strong understanding of electrical systems, installation practices, testing procedures, health and safety requirements, and construction contracts is essential. You will need excellent planning, commercial and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities are required, together with confidence leading project teams and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. Experience using project management, scheduling and cost-control software would be advantageous. A professional, organised and proactive approach is essential, as is a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service.
