Job summary

Build Talent LLC in San Antonio, TX seeks an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and field coordination while nurturing client relationships and coordinating with owners, general contractors, and vendors to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial electrical construction preferred.
  • Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or subcontractor strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, and project sequencing.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, change orders, and cost forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial electrical projects from contract award through completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, labor projections, and procurement plans.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents, Foremen, field teams, General Contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, estimates, and project scope.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, billing, forecasting, and overall profitability.
  • Coordinate material purchasing, equipment releases, long-lead items, and project logistics.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project progress, schedule, financial performance, and potential risks.
  • Identify and resolve field, scheduling, manpower, procurement, and coordination challenges.
  • Work closely with field leadership to ensure manpower and materials align with project schedules.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, General Contractors, vendors, and project partners.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable electrical codes, contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Manage punch-list completion, testing, commissioning, turnover documentation, and project closeout.
  • Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers as needed.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This individual will be responsible for project execution, financial performance, scheduling, procurement, field coordination, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background working for an electrical contractor and experience managing commercial electrical projects such as healthcare, data centers, education, office, hospitality, industrial, or other large-scale commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial electrical projects from contract award through completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, labor projections, and procurement plans.

  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
