Job summary

Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI) seeks an Electrical Project Manager to lead designated projects, guiding teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to specifications, while upholding integrity and client service.

The role emphasizes leadership of subs, design teams, and city officials, with a focus on safety and quality. Based at our Meridian, Idaho headquarters, this position requires extensive construction experience, LEED awareness, and strong communication.

Qualifications

Job description

ESI’s Electrical Project Managers are the stewards of individual projects and bear the ultimate responsibility for their success or failure. They are the leaders of their team and provide guidance, direction, and follow‑up to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications and quality standards. They believe success is attained together and is never a solo achievement. They are visionaries who can visualize success, create a plan to achieve it, and carry out that plan. They are the stewards of the client’s financial investment, operate with transparency and ethics, and serve as the public face and agents of ESI, representing it with integrity and professionalism. Through their personal experience, commitment to integrity, and service‑oriented mindset, they are able to create, strengthen, and maintain relationships with clients, trades, and within the ESI family. Electrical industry experience is a must for this role.

This role is based in our headquarters in Merdian Idaho.

ESI covers 100% of the medical premium for all employees and families.

Responsibilities
  • Represent ESI as an ambassador to clientele, design teams, city officials, and subcontractors.
  • Manage all aspects of a construction project, including bidding, construction/operation, project close‑out, and warranty.
  • Establish, monitor, and thoroughly understand project finances.
  • Generate, track, and maintain complex construction schedules.
  • Search out, contract with, negotiate with, and effectively manage a diverse group of subcontractors.
  • Resolve prime contract and subcontract disputes.
  • Regularly visit jobsites to meet with clients and verify adherence to project documents and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other support departments to identify and resolve project issues.
  • Regularly report project status to superiors and clients.
  • Effectively train and develop other team members.

  • Extensive knowledge of building construction, materials, means and methods, scheduling, project accounting and cost control procedures, general contract structure, general conditions, subcontract documents, construction drawings and specifications.

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite programs; specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Proficient in scheduling and tracking software tools such as MS Project, P6 (Primavera), and/or Suretrack.
  • Possesses organizational skills and is detail oriented.
  • Exemplifies a customer service‑focused attitude.
  • Able to delegate tasks and follow up to ensure successful completion.
  • Positive contribution to ESI’s culture and active participation in company events and programs.
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Has at least five (5) years of construction project management experience.
  • General knowledge of LEED / Green Building principles and requirements.
  • Can successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with contract values ranging from $1M to $15M each, or individual complex projects ranging from $10M to $40M.
  • Current safety certifications, including OSHA 30‑hour.
  • Demonstrated history of excellent customer service.
  • Track record of on‑time, within‑budget, quality construction projects.
  • Aptitude in training and developing other team members.
  • Confidence in navigating and understanding prime contracts.
  • Ability to manage a team of people to achieve specific project requirements, including Project Engineers (PE), Assistant Project Managers (APM), and Project Coordinators (PC).
Working Conditions

Fast‑paced working environment.

Working environment may be busy and noisy.

This position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.

This role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations.

Interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of team members, and outside vendors.

Physical Demands

This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle.

The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises.

The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily.

Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, whether individually or in a team environment, are vital aspects of the role.

Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, are necessary for performing work safely and effectively.

Travel Requirements

May occasionally be required to travel to project sites and pre‑bid meetings. May be asked to relocate on site for 6‑12 months, depending on project schedule and needs.
