JDI Industrial Services, the industrial maintenance division of J. Davis Inc., seeks an Electrical Project Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction to closeout.

You will manage bids, review blueprints, coordinate procurement, and ensure compliance with policies and laws while keeping stakeholders informed. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in electrical construction, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and proficiency with Procore/Sage/Viewpoint.

Job description

JDI Industrial Services is the industrial maintenance division of J. Davis Inc., a family-owned organization providing construction, grading, supplemental maintenance, and industrial services to South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. With four divisions and Five offices in the coastal and upstate regions of South Carolina, we are proud to offer superior services to the southeastern United States.

JDI Industrial Services is now seeking an Electrical Project Manager. This position is responsible for managing multiple projects at various stages and overseeing projects from pre-construction to closeout. Successful applicants will manage the bid process, analyze blueprints/specifications, review proposals/project requirements, secure required permits, coordinate material procurement, ensure work is done in compliance with J. Davis policies and federal/state laws, provide status updates, maintain documentation records, manage completion of the work and, if necessary, assist in its completion.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Build strong working relationships with clients to fully understand and best partner with them to achieve their success


• Manage projects from concept to turnover including project timelines, budget, schedules, and coordinating workflow with team members


• Determines project requirements per project location and adequately accounts for all fees associated with project


• Develop Clear and accurate scope documents for Design/Build projects


• Perform quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all items incorporated in the assigned scope


• Take lead role in Lump Sum bids, determines and assigns workload to meet deadlines


• Request estimates from any sub-contractors and price any materials or equipment


• Review and fully understands contract terms with Operations Manager and Owners (T&M, Purchase Order, etc.)


• Coordinate construction document development, as necessary


• Obtains all necessary permits/business licenses and J. Davis bonding for construction


• Coordinates purchase of necessary materials and provides them to superintendent prior to project start


• Buyout of all purchase orders and subcontracts 100% and find cost savings where ethically possible


• Responsible for the production of a schedule of values and gaining approval from the Operations Manger


• Work with superintendent and subcontractors to assemble project schedule


• Develop subcontracts as needed


• Analyze and assemble cost data, unit prices, historical costs, and information that can be developed and used as a data base for future conceptual estimates.

Skills And Qualifications

• Have thorough knowledge of industrial electricity (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of Company and industry practices, electrical code requirements, processes, standards and their impact on project activities.


• Experience managing electrical projects with budgets up to 1 million


• Must possess the ability to think critically and problem solve


• Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


• Word, Excel, Outlook, Project


• Strong business ethics with regards to budgets, invoicing and payments


• Familiarity with construction project management software (Procore, Sage 300, Viewpoint, etc.)


• Reading understanding contract documents and P&ID drawings


• Knowledge and a background with project Estimating, Planning, Scheduling and Budgeting


• 5+ years’ extensive experience with knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as an Electrical Project Manager or similar position in a Commercial and/or Industrial environment.


• Bachelor’s degree in construction science & management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
