Electrical Project Executive Summary
My client is looking to hire multiple candidates to cover the central and northern Indiana areas.
The Project Executive will provide strategic and operational leadership for large-scale electrical construction projects, with a focus on data centers and other mission-critical facilities. This individual will oversee project performance from planning through completion, ensuring schedules, budgets, safety requirements, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
The successful candidate will bring extensive electrical construction experience, strong financial and operational management skills, and the ability to lead complex projects exceeding $50 million. This role requires a proven leader who can manage project teams, build client relationships, mitigate risk, and drive successful project outcomes.
Electrical Project Executive Key Responsibilities
- Direct all phases of major electrical construction projects, from preconstruction and planning through execution and closeout.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and financial performance.
- Ensure electrical installations meet design specifications, applicable codes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Lead project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and other project personnel.
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, design teams, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify performance concerns, and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate project risks and develop strategies to minimize schedule delays, cost overruns, and execution issues.
- Establish and maintain project controls, reporting processes, and performance metrics.
- Review contract requirements, scope changes, procurement needs, and resource allocations.
- Maintain strong client relationships and communicate project status, financial performance, and potential risks.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, contractual obligations, and organizational procedures.
Electrical Project Executive Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least 10 years of construction project management experience, including substantial electrical construction exposure.
- Experience leading large-scale electrical construction projects valued at $50 million or more.
- Experience with data centers, mission-critical facilities, or similarly complex electrical infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, teams, risk, and financial performance.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, systems, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Experience leading project managers and multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Proficiency with project scheduling and management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
Electrical Project Executive Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential.
- Experience with complex electrical infrastructure, critical power systems, or high-availability facilities.
- Experience with project forecasting, earned value, cost-to-complete analysis, and financial reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of construction contracts, change management, procurement, and risk mitigation.
