Electrical Project Manager Summary
My client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for coordinating field operations, managing schedules and resources, maintaining project profitability, and delivering quality results while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate combines strong electrical construction knowledge with effective leadership, financial awareness, organizational skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
Electrical Project Manager Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Execution: Direct electrical construction projects to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements.
- Resource Coordination: Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, tools, and project information to support efficient field operations and maintain construction schedules.
- Field Leadership: Oversee field leadership and electrical crews across multiple projects, providing direction and addressing issues that affect productivity or performance.
- Project Administration: Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation; monitor progress; resolve construction challenges; and coordinate project completion and closeout.
- Financial Performance: Monitor labor hours, project costs, and resource utilization to support profitability and control expenses.
- Client and Stakeholder Relations: Maintain productive relationships with customers, general contractors, field personnel, and internal teams through regular communication and project meetings.
- Jobsite Oversight: Conduct site visits to evaluate progress, support field teams, address concerns, and reinforce safe work practices.
- Business Development: Identify potential project opportunities, strengthen existing customer relationships, and contribute to future business growth.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure work meets established quality standards, project requirements, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
Electrical Project Manager Qualifications
- Approximately 7 years of project management experience in electrical construction preferred; comparable relevant experience will be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, project documentation, scheduling, and field coordination.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects and coordinating field supervisors, superintendents, and electrical crews.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computers and standard business or project management software.
- Electrical apprenticeship training or completion of an approved apprenticeship program is preferred.
