Hatteras Capital Advisors is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for Charlotte, NC, focusing on water and wastewater projects. The role involves design, coordination with PMs, and delivering reports, drawings, and submittals for treatment plants, pump stations, and related facilities.

Ideal candidates have 5–15 years in electrical engineering, familiarity with NEC/NFPA 780, and proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and Arc Flash tools.

Formación

• 5–15 years of electrical engineering experience in water/wastewater projects.
• PE license preferred or able to obtain.
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 780; experience with design and documentation.

• Assist with RFIs, submittals, modifications and changes.

Position: Electrical Project Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC

We have an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with experience working on
Water/Wastewater projects. This career growth opportunity is with an established, full
service civil engineering firm.

Position Overview: The Electrical Project Engineer will play a vital role in the completion of
water/wastewater engineering projects throughout North Carolina. You will be working on
water/ wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, etc.

Responsibilities:
Work with project managers, clients, conduct evaluations, prepare reports, detailed
specifications, drawings, permitting, submittals, etc.
Assist with RFIs, submittals, modifications, changes, etc.
Conduct site visits, participate in client meetings, etc.

Required Experience:
5 – 15 years of electrical engineering, water/wastewater project experience.
A Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain is highly preferred
o Managing multiple projects, tasks, assignments, etc.
o Medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems (i.e. Motor
Control Centers, Generators, Switchgears, etc.)
o Diagrams (single line, motor elementary, instrument loop wiring.)
o Electrical Area classification and ability to specify electrical equipment.
o Emergency backup systems.
o SpecSizer (Caterpiller) or Powersuite (Cummins)
o Designing full emergency backup systems.
Knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 780.
Technical Skills: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical (or Revit), Arc Flash software (eTap or
SKM)
