Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), a Fortune 500 company, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Electrical Project & Reliability Engineers at our Valdosta, GA paper mill.

Job Summary

The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating the planning, organization, and execution of mill reliability programs. This includes developing electrical reliability initiatives, supporting maintenance and operations teams, and improving the reliability of electrical machinery in the mill.

Principle Responsibilities
  1. Manage all phases of key maintenance programs from conception to implementation.
  2. Support scheduled maintenance outages and projects in electrical maintenance and engineering.
  3. Collaborate with mechanical teams for comprehensive equipment maintenance programs.
  4. Develop and maintain equipment manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, and spare parts inventories.
  5. Manage equipment tracking, rebuild programs, and utilize predictive and preventive maintenance tools.
  6. Plan and oversee outages, including scheduling and resource management.
  7. Lead capital projects for equipment replacement and upgrades.
  8. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  9. Manage contractors and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  10. Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering and maintenance within the pulp and paper industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Successful completion of drug screening and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry is preferred.

  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and build effective relationships.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Decision-making skills with a capacity for creative problem-solving.
