Electrical Project Engineer (Valdosta Mill)

Job Overview

The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating the planning, organizing, and completion of mill reliability programs within the assigned area. This includes developing electrical reliability programs to maintain and improve electrical machinery reliability, providing technical guidance, and supporting maintenance and operations personnel.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Manage all phases of key maintenance programs from conception to implementation.
  2. Support daily, monthly, and annual outage jobs related to electrical maintenance and engineering.
  3. Collaborate with mechanical maintenance teams to deliver comprehensive equipment programs.
  4. Complete electrical or mechanical maintenance projects, including training, spare parts stocking, preventive checklists, and documentation.
  5. Promote safety, environmental, and operational goals.
  6. Enhance electrical equipment reliability and manage equipment tracking and rebuild programs.
  7. Use predictive and preventive maintenance to identify issues.
  8. Maintain equipment documentation and manuals.
  9. Oversee equipment PM and outage work, including planning with MS Project.
  10. Plan and execute capital projects for maintenance replacements.
  11. Optimize job execution for cost and efficiency, and solve issues using RCFA.
  12. Manage contractors effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering and maintenance within the pulp and paper industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Successful drug screening and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry.
