Bala Consulting Engineers, a multi-office engineering firm, seeks an Electrical Project Engineer to sit in our Wayne, PA office, supporting electrical distribution, fire alarm, and lighting control design across the enterprise. The role involves on-site surveys, coordination with disciplines, and preparing reports and cost estimates.

Requirements include 7–10 years designing electrical infrastructure, knowledge of short circuit/arc flash, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure and fire alarm/lighting systems.
• Familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, lighting design, interior/exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
• Background in design of commercial and data centers strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant codes knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and lighting control systems.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
• Determine schedules and details required for the project; review with project engineer.
• Attend job meetings as required and ensure information flow between disciplines.
• Assist in writing reports and feasibility studies and support developing electrical standards.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications.
