Job summary

Kiewit Power Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to manage administrative and technical aspects of construction, coordinating between the construction manager and a team of engineers. You will oversee cost, revenue, and cash flow information while mentoring junior engineers.

Based in Lenexa, KS, you will ensure contract plans are followed, supervise field work, develop the project schedule, maintain documents, and drive safety programs on site.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ work experience in construction or engineering.
• 2+ years' experience managing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of contract plans and specifications for assigned work.
• Inspect field conditions and identify cost-saving measures; take corrective action.
• Review subordinates’ work for compliance and address deficiencies.
• Develop and maintain the project master schedule using scheduling software.
• Manage document control; log new drawings and contract docs.
• Review changes and quantify impact; distribute new issues to field.
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow.
• Propose better methods, staffing, and processes to improve operations.
• Act as coordinating engineer on multiple projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Read and interpret plans; visualize drawings in 3D.
• Support project team and enforce safety programs at the project level.
