Job summary

National Gypsum Company, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced engineer to manage electrical project work from estimating through start-up and to assist manufacturing plants with safety and process improvements.

You will develop scopes, estimate costs, prepare schedules, design drawings for capital projects, oversee field construction, and coordinate procurement. Proficiency with NEC, motor controls, VFDs, and AutoCAD is required. Willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; HMI/PLC programming and troubleshooting skills a must.
• 5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code; power and motor circuits design a must.
• Knowledge of transformers, switchgear and major power components.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes; estimate equipment, installations, and engineering costs.
• Prepare project schedules for Appropriation Requests and manage scope, budget, and schedule.
• Design and oversee construction drawings for capital projects and oversee field activities.
• Coordinate project start-ups and procurement of equipment and services.
• Support existing facilities with maintenance, repair and improvements.
• Plan and coordinate multiple projects in a team environment.
• Travel as required and ensure completion from start to finish.
