Description

Individuals assigned to this classification will perform engineering calculations and must be able to layout and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, codes, and shall exercise judgment in their application with minimal to no supervision. They should apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve problems and conflicts related to their projects and be capable of independent decision-making. Occasionally, supervision of subordinate personnel or assistance to other engineers or designers may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, minimum 8 years of experience, and a licensed PE.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations, layout, and design of systems per policies, standards, procedures, and codes.
• Resolve project-related problems using practical knowledge and experience.
• Make independent engineering decisions.
• Supervise or assist engineers and designers.
• Know discipline-specific and building codes.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Lead and coordinate with project teams, estimate man-hours, and manage design budgets and schedules.
• Review engineering designs for function, clearance, and coordination.
• Perform quality assurance and mentor junior engineers.
• Meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
