Job summary

CEC Companies offers a multi-summer Electrical Project Engineer Intern program in Canton, MS, to develop future leaders across Special Projects, FP&A, and Estimating. In the first summer, you work with Special Projects on budgeting, profitability, and earned value management, blending office analysis with field site visits to see project operations firsthand.

Participants rotate through FinOps/FP&A and Accounting or Estimating in subsequent summers, gaining hands-on experience, PPE discipline,

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project budget development, tracking, and analysis for Special Projects initiatives.
• Support profitability analysis and reporting for ongoing projects and programs.
• Learn and apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to track project performance metrics.
• Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to gather data and prepare analytical reports.
• Help develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Participate in job site visits (minimum 1-2 throughout the summer) to understand field operations.
