Job summary

Epstein, a well-established AE firm, seeks an Electrical Project Engineer in Chicago with 5–8 years of consulting experience to lead design efforts across commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. You will mentor staff, coordinate disciplines, and deliver high-quality engineered solutions.

The role emphasizes creativity, design rigor, and client interaction within a 100% ESOP-owned firm committed to green initiatives and sustainable design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of project experience in A/E/C or consulting engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• Understanding of other building systems disciplines and coordination of design between disciplines.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and general building codes.
• Experience working with teams, clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Revit; LightStanza.

Responsibilities

• Understand project objectives, scope, deliverables, and budget implications.
• Establish design criteria for specific projects.
• Lead design and detailing of electrical engineering systems.
• Manage development of construction/installation documents and deliverables.
• Perform analysis and design calculations and delegate tasks to team members.
• Review calculations for accuracy and code compliance.
• Coordinate with project team and all design disciplines.
• Perform field surveys and prepare reports.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for construction and installation.
• Support preparation of project specifications and design reviews.
