Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to collaborate with the design team on electrical power, lighting, data, and technology systems for educational (K-12) and government projects. The role focuses on energy conservation strategies and supporting MEP construction efforts across project phases.

The engineer will assist in design coordination, field inspections, commissioning activities, and budgeting, delivering complete solutions and clarity through thoughtful design.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related accredited program; professional licensing encouraged, but not required.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD, Word and Excel.
• Experience with other system design software is beneficial.
• Self-motivated, innovative, competent, responsible, proficient and organized.
• Able to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical load calculations for buildings.
• Perform building audits and analysis of existing systems.
• Conduct energy and operational analyses to optimize solutions.
• Assist in the design of building electrical support systems.
• Size equipment via load calculations and vendor coordination; generate specs.
• Create plans and drafting using AutoCAD; perform lighting design layouts.
• Develop and generate details & schedules; review submittals.
• Assist commissioning and on-site inspection and construction meetings.
• Support budgeting and estimating of scopes of work; assist project managers.
