Job summary

Career Collective is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design of electrical systems for a variety of building projects. The role focuses on lighting design, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and engineering calculations, across commercial, K-12, higher education, and hospital facilities.

You will design lighting systems, perform photometric analyses, and contribute to energy code compliance, with collaboration across project teams and field site visits.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree OR 3+ years of electrical design experience.
• 2+ years of lighting design experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of building electrical systems and design.
• EIT or PE is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design and evaluations for building projects.
• Design lighting systems and perform photometric analysis.
• Perform electrical calculations, including short-circuit analysis and building power load calculations.
• Assist with energy code compliance calculations.
• Analyze existing electrical systems for buildings.
• Prepare drawings and layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Review change orders and provide project engineering support.
• Support project managers and teams with RFIs and submittals.
• Prepare technical construction specifications.
• Participate in site visits and inspections.
• Assist with preliminary design, budget analysis, equipment selection, and life-cycle cost analysis.
• Work with project teams to develop practical, detailed electrical design solutions.
