Job summary

AlphaX is hiring a hands-on Project Engineer to manage large-scale commercial electrical projects in the Detroit area. This role collaborates with Project Managers, vendors, and clients to ensure project success and offers a clear path to Assistant Project Manager roles.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, strong organizational skills, and must be comfortable with field operations. Benefits include competitive salary, health insurance, and retirement plan options.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or project engineering environments.
• Experience working for an electrical contractor or general contractor preferred.
• Must be comfortable supporting active field operations.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial electrical projects from preconstruction turnover through final closeout.
• Assist Project Managers with project setup, scheduling, procurement, and cost tracking.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents for scope requirements.

Skills

Experience in commercial construction

Understanding of project documentation flow

Organizational and communication skills

Ability to read construction drawings

Familiarity with construction software
