Overview

Electrical Project Engineer role at Vallourec - North America, focused on electrical and automation capital investment projects across Vallourec sites in Youngstown. The role provides technical guidance to the Maintenance Manager on electrical and automation systems and supports Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Electrical and Automation capital investment improvement projects for multiple Vallourec sites in Youngstown.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to the Maintenance Manager concerning all facets of Equipment Electrical and Automation systems, including Wonderware upgrades, traceability related projects, energy conservation projects, interface with IT for plant-level updates or upgrades, PLC upgrades, HMI upgrades, Ethernet conversions, writing of technical procedures, developing detailed scope of work, project quoting, and safety initiatives related to electrical and automation.
• Manage maintenance on the plant emergency generators to ensure a reliable source of electricity for critical circuits.
• Develop and maintain technical documents and prints, including drawing changes and updates; ensure all documents and prints are easily available for all plant personnel; work with vendors to assure up-to-date drawing management.
• Communicate Electrical and Automation best practices to identify and update obsolete or outdated hardware.
• Work closely with the Reliability Based Maintenance Team to support Industry 4.0 advancements.

Experience, Skills, And Knowledge

• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project and MS Office Suite.
• Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment.
• Travel 10% of the time to visit potential suppliers and factory acceptance tests.
• Able to work flexible hours and be available for consultation as needed.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations and IEEE standards.

Education, Training, And Certifications

• 4-year bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years project management experience preferred.
