We are looking for a full-time Electrical/Lighting Project Engineer to join the team! The selected candidate can work out of any of the following locations: Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, IN
Key Responsibilities (Technical):
- Review contract requirements including scope of work and budgets with all team members assigned to them for each project
- Responsible for maintaining the project schedule and budgets for their work tasks, ensuring all milestones are met. If client does not provide schedule, Project Engineer develops in conjunction with the Project Manager an internal schedule that must be maintained
- Coordinate through verbal and written communication the work of other team members, other consultants and with the client, keeping the Project Manager involved as required
- Update project schedule when needed and submit to the Project Manager for approval
- Supervise and coordinate daily work efforts for each staff member assigned to them. Provide one on one technical direction to the project staff for all work tasks.
- Coordinate work activities and compatibility of their team between various disciplines
- Notify the Project Manager immediately of any out-of-scope work tasks or budget concerns Provide timely updates on project status to the Project Manager. Identify and notify the Project Manager in a timely manner of potential deviations from original work plan, both technical and managerial
- Perform a thorough review of all work (preliminary, prefinal and final) before submittal to the Project Manager and be responsible for accuracy and quality of work
- Verify that QC/QA procedures are continuously followed
Key Responsibilities (Non-Technical):
- Identify new business opportunities, clients, and potential services for the future growth of Ciorba Group
- Assist in developing staff hours and direct costs for proposals or during client negotiations
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for new project opportunities
- Assist Project Manager with recruiting efforts
- Maintain positive client relationships
- Mentor lower-level engineers and technicians through on the job training
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering license
- Proficient in the use of a computer for design with the ability to work efficiently in various software programs including CAD
- Significant experience performing photometric calculations using AGi32 and voltage drop calculations
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work independently, while collaborating with other team members and managers
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation of performing job responsibilities
- Complies with accepted professional and safety standards and practice
- Approximately 8-10 years of experience in engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering from accredited school
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
