Nucor Corporation in Utah seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to lead safety and engineering excellence across the plant’s power distribution. You will oversee predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance of switchgear, transformers, and backup systems to support reliable operations.

Candidates should have a BS in Electrical Engineering, be willing to shift work, and bring experience in industrial electrical engineering and reading technical drawings.

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Electrical Power Engineer is to be a leaders in safety, while supporting operations and showing engineering excellence. They will be responsible for leading predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance for the power distribution throughout the facility. That includes switch gear, power distribution centerers, battery backups, transformers and protective relays. They will provide division-wide technical expertise, assist with long term capital planning, provide leadership and planning, coordinate preventative maintenance measures, and will be vital to the advancement of Nucor’s Maintenance Strategy:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience in the electrical power field
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in industrial electrical engineering.
• Experience with melting, casting, or long product rolling.
• Electric Arc Furnace regulation.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
• Experience with Capital expenditures budgets and implementation
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and design specifications
