Nucor Corporation in Kentucky seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to lead safety-focused operations and engineering excellence across the power distribution system, including switchgear, distribution centers, battery backups, transformers and protective relays.

You will provide division-wide technical expertise, assist with long-term capital planning, coordinate preventive maintenance, and drive the Maintenance Strategy for reliable, safe production.

Formación

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience in the electrical power field.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts, with overtime as needed.
• Experience in industrial electrical engineering preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead safety-focused maintenance for power distribution across the facility.
• Manage maintenance of switchgear, power distribution centers, battery backups, transformers and protective relays.
• Provide technical leadership and capital planning input for the Maintenance Strategy.

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Electrical Power Engineer is to be a leaders in safety, while supporting operations and showing engineering excellence. They will be responsible for leading predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance for the power distribution throughout the facility. That includes switch gear, power distribution centerers, battery backups, transformers and protective relays. They will provide division-wide technical expertise, assist with long term capital planning, provide leadership and planning, coordinate preventative maintenance measures, and will be vital to the advancement of Nucor’s Maintenance Strategy:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience in the electrical power field
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in industrial electrical engineering.
• Experience with melting, casting, or long product rolling.
• Electric Arc Furnace regulation.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
• Experience with Capital expenditures budgets and implementation
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and design specifications
