Job summary

Chevron's El Segundo Refinery IC&E team is seeking a Designs Engineer, IC&E to design, test, install and maintain instrumentation, process automation, and low-voltage power systems to support safe, reliable operations.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, project execution, and collaboration with operations, maintenance and other engineering disciplines; relocation support may be available, and the position is based on site in El Segundo, California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 15+ years experience may substitute.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Electrical Power Engineering in heavy industries.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems including MV/LV distribution, relays, motors, transformers, switchgear, UPS, and power system studies.
• Troubleshoot I&E problems and develop solutions for reliability and performance.
• Provide technical support for electrical power systems to ensure safe operations.
• Specify, purchase, install, commission and troubleshoot electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of motor fundamentals and protection schemes; ETAP software usage.
• Desire to learn instrumentation, automation systems, control valves.
• Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team player relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, install and maintain instrumentation, process automation and low-voltage power systems.
• Provide technical support for daily operations, reliability improvements and outage execution.
• Support maintenance planning and project execution across the IC&E team.
• Collaborate with operations and other engineering disciplines to ensure safe, reliable operations.
