Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking an Electrical Planner for the Stillwater Mine (Nye, MT) to oversee electrical installation and maintenance, develop drawings and specs, and monitor compliance with codes and standards.

Key duties include promoting safety culture, managing projects from design to commissioning, preparing electrical drawings and data sheets, and coordinating budgets and reporting. Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and MSHA safety knowledge; on-site shift flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mining safety rules and MSHA regulations.
• Ability to apply modern technology to improve reliability.
• Experience executing safety and quality control systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment and culture.
• Manage projects from design through commissioning, closing as-builts, and final specs.
• Create and authorize electrical drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, specs, and calculations.
• Analyze reports, drawings, tests, and data to plan and design work.
• Ensure compliance with codes, permitting, QA/QC, and performance standards.
• Identify new technologies and provide improvement recommendations.
• Prepare and review project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and reports.
• Support Change Management processes.
• Provide capital equipment requirements.

5x2, 4x3 9hr Shifts

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the overall electrical installation and maintenance function of equipment, by preparing and modifying drawings, specifications, calculations and monitoring work for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, procedures and standards.

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment, safe work practices, and a strong safety culture.
• Manage projects from design through commissioning ensuring all as-builts are closed and projects completed to the final specifications.
• Create and authorize electrical drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, specifications & calculations.
• Analyze reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work.
• Monitoring compliance with applicable codes, permitting requirements, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
• Identify and research new technologies and provide suggestions for improvement.
• Produce / review required project budgets, forecasts, scheduling, spending authority, and project reports.
• Adherence to and promote Change Management protocols.
• Provide capital equipment requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Working knowledge of mining and maintenance including safety (MSHA Rules & Regulations), maintenance, equipment and environmental regulations.
• Knowledge in applying modern-day technology to improve reliability.
• Knowledge in executing safety and quality control systems.
• Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Power Point and Excel).

Education & Experience

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• Must be able to work any shift, as needed.
• Entry level position (0 - 5 years' experience)
