Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks an Electrical PCB Engineer for a fast-growing, privately held manufacturer of engineered electronics in the Greater Milwaukee area. You will own hardware design from concept through factory release, with autonomy and exposure to the product roadmap.

The role is 100% onsite with up to 20 travel days annually for validation, field testing, or installations. Candidate should have 4+ years hardware design experience and US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hardware design and circuit troubleshooting with a relevant degree.
  • Experience with multi-layer PCB layout, circuit design, and power supply development.
  • Experience developing power electronics and managing mixed-signal layouts.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and production BOMs.
  • US work authorization and residence within commuting distance of Milwaukee area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and layout multi-layer PCBs from concept to production release.
  • Develop robust analog/mixed-signal power supply designs for industrial environments.
  • Create electrical schematics, specs, and manufacturing BOMs.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, debugging, and factory startup activities.
  • Perform reliability analyses and coordinate with QA for validation testing.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities to meet milestones.
  • Travel up to 20 days per year for validation, testing, or installations.

Location: Greater Milwaukee / Northeast WI Corridor | Schedule: Full-time, 100% Onsite | Compensation: Up to $100,000 Base Salary

Overview

A fast-growing, privately held manufacturer of highly engineered electronic products for demanding industrial applications is seeking an Electrical PCB Engineer to own hardware design from concept through factory floor release. With steady revenue growth and a lean, low-bureaucracy structure, this direct-hire role offers full project autonomy and high visibility into the company's product roadmap.

What you'll do
  • Design, model, and layout multi-layer PCBs from initial concept through prototype builds, bench testing, and final production release
  • Develop and optimize power supply designs, including robust analog and mixed-signal circuitry tailored for demanding industrial environments
  • Create clean electrical schematics, precise engineering specifications, and complete manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Support hands-on prototype builds, initial product testing, bench debugging, and factory floor manufacturing startup activities
  • Perform strict reliability analysis and collaborate with quality assurance teams to support formal compliance and validation testing
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and design priorities to ensure product milestones stay on schedule
  • Travel up to 20 days per year domestically for product validation, field testing, or client installations
Required qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional experience with a relevant degree (or 10+ years of proven hands-on PCB layout experience without a degree) in hardware design and circuit troubleshooting
  • Practical experience with multi-layer PCB layout, circuit design, power supply development, and analog/mixed-signal circuitry
  • Practical experience developing power electronics, handling analog component selection, and managing mixed-signal layouts
  • Absolute proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics, technical specifications, and production BOMs
  • Self-directed, motivated mindset capable of driving project deliverables independently without heavy oversight
  • US work authorization required
  • Permanent residence within a daily commuting radius of the production facility in the Greater Milwaukee / Northeast WI corridor
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools (PSpice)
  • Baseline firmware/embedded familiarity
  • CAD software exposure (SolidWorks)
Compensation and benefits
  • Up to $100,000 base salary
