Job summary

Arista Networks in Santa Clara, CA seeks an Electrical NPI Engineer to bridge design and manufacturing for high-performance SMT PCBs. You will own NPI lifecycles, drive DFM improvements, and ensure quality from prototype to production.

You’ll collaborate with Hardware, ECAD, Mechanical, and CM teams, apply DFx principles, manage ECOs with PLM tools, and mentor manufacturing teams to boost yield and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering with 5-7+ years in NPI
• Experience in Advanced SMT and 30+ layer PCB assembly
• PCA Design/Layout experience is a plus
• Strong circuit debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis (8D)
• DFx knowledge: DFM, DFR, DFT, DFC, DFQ
• PLM systems (Propel, Agile) for ECO/MCO/DEV/PCN processes
• Lifecycle management from prototype to end-of-life; BOM risk, second sourcing
• Leadership and cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Marketing, TAC and CM Partners

Responsibilities

• Drive NPI for advanced SMT PCBs and resolve DFM issues
• Optimize high-layer-count PCB manufacturing and BGA assembly
• Lead process validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
• Manage NPI lifecycles from prototype to full production
• Manage ECOs and PLM-based version control
• Drive continuous yield, cost, and quality improvements
• Develop SMT/PCB assembly best practices per IPC standards
• Coordinate with supply chain for inventory efficiency
